Regarding climate crisis
It is immoral to keep on the path of magnifying the global climate crisis.
Space exploration, CEOs of Exxon Mobil, Conoco, etc., who “earn” seven-figure salaries, and overconsuming beyond any sanity is immoral. Travel prioritizes unconscious, disastrous behaviors.
Driving, rather than not driving, is idiotic. The only way we will decrease more frequent and more severe wildfires, floods, agriculture disasters, starvation worldwide, rising food prices, sea levels rise, and the heating of Earth temperatures is to just “chill, and cool it.”
Simplify. We will always have homeless and ruinous planetary outcomes with our economic, cultural, societal greed-centered, immoral behaviors.

The University of Hawaii football season starts Aug. 26 against Vanderbilt. The first five games are nonconference, with the remaining eight conference.
Although picked to finish 10th out of 12 Mountain West teams, I have a feeling the Rainbow Warriors will do much better.
The game against Air Force, picked to finish 2nd, is appropriately on Veterans Day. Why not offer members of the military tickets at half price (or some variation thereof) to fill up the stadium and show our support?

‘Give us a gravel road’
It’s been a while since I’ve written, but after our first hurricane of the season, it felt like time.
Five years ago Pohoiki Road was covered by lava and remains that way. The tsunami evacuation route is still 15 miles of a one-lane road, of which five miles are along the coast.
The ball seems to be in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s court, with the environmental assessment report, but I can’t confirm because Bob Barker at FEMA has stopped talking to me. Regardless, I gave up on them long ago.
My question now is why the county doesn’t put in a gravel road like (Old Government Road)? The answer I get is that it would make FEMA mad.
Well, I’m not seeing the problem. Just give us a gravel road that takes us away from the coast in case of emergency and allow ambulances and fire vehicles a short route to our homes.
Come on, mayor, you can do that!
